Abstract:
1431631 Polysulphide copolymers THIOKOL CORP 24 Jan 1974 [29 Jan 1973] 03428/74 Heading C3R Polysulphide copolymers comprise 2-hydroxy propylene units and diethylene formal units randomly distributed and separated from each other by polysulphide groups. They are obtained by reacting mixtures of an epihalohydrin (e.g. epichlorohydrin) and dichloroethylformal with an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal polysulphide and an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal sulphydrate. A cross-linking agent, e.g. 1,2,3-trichloropropane, may be included in the reaction. Examples are given.
