Abstract:
1343149 Coating fibrous sheets CARL MUNTERS AB 19 April 1971 [11 Feb 1970] 22650/71 Heading C1A Insoluble coatings, e.g. SiO 2 , are provided on exchanger packings comprising corrugated fibrous sheets by (a) wetting the packing with an aqueous solution of an inorganic salt and then (b) exposing the wet packing to a gas which reacts with the salt to form an insoluble substance. The inorganic salt may be an alkali metal silicate or alkaline earth metal chloride. The reactive gas may be CO 2 , SO 3 , Cl 2 or P 2 O 5 . The reactive sheets may be made of asbestos.
