PURPOSE: To make mode setting easy and to avoid the production of large sound, by arranging a brake member and pinch rollers at a position corresponding to the running mode of a plurality of magnetic recording tapes with a cam guide member.

CONSTITUTION: The 1st brake lever 124 is arranged under a left reel shaft 16 in front of a chassis 28 and furhter the 2nd brake lever 126 is arranged under a right reel shaft 18, and also a pair of pinch roller holding levers 138 and 140 are arranged. Each one end of the levers 138 and 140 is freely rotatably in parallel with the front surface of the chassis 28. A pair of pinch rollers 142, 144 are freely rotatably fitted to the other end of the levers 138 and 140.
