Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6042579
Kind Code:
B1
Abstract:
1374585 MgO layer OWENS-ILLINOIS Inc 24 Sept 1971 [28 Sept 1970] 44609/71 Heading C1A [Also in Divisions B2 and H1] A pair of opposed dielectric material charge storage surfaces of a gaseous discharge panel are each backed by at least one electrode member and have a layer of MgO at least 100 Š thick. The layer is preferably at least 200 Š and may be up to 10,000 Š thick. The dielectric material may be a lead borosilicate layer cured on to a substrate of soda lime glass carrying conductors, e.g. of gold, forming a cross-bar addressing system. The oxide layer may be applied directly to the dielectric surface or maybe formed in situ by applying the elemental metal or a source thereof followed by oxidation. The panel may be either the multi-cellular or the single open cell type. The gas filling may consist of 99À9% atoms of neon and 0À1% atoms of argon at a pressure of about 600 torr.
