Abstract:

To provide a new compound exhibiting excellent plant blight controlling action and useful as an active component of agricultural and horticultural fungicide.

The objective compound is expressed by the formula I (X is a halogen; W is O or S; R1 is a 1-4C alkyl; R2 and R3 are each H, a 1-10C alkyl, a 2-6C alkenyl, etc.), e.g. N-(3-chloro-1-methyl-5-pyrazolecarbonyl) isobutyramide. The compound of the formula I can be produced by reacting a carboxylic acid halide of the formula II with an amine of the formula III in a solvent (e.g. chloroform) at 0-120°C. The compound of the formula I is especially effective for the control of rice blast and is also effective for controlling powdery mildew of wheat, melanose of orange, brown rot of peach, rust of Welsh onion, powdery mildew of strawberry, etc. The application amount of the compound of the formula I is about 0.005-50kg per 1ha.
