To provide an absorbent article, which is provided with a surface sheet where ridges extending in the longitudinal direction are paralleled and streak grooves extending in the width direction, reliably draws in menstrual flow traveling along the ridges, and reliably prevents leakage along the skin.
A sanitary napkin 1 includes the surface sheet 2, a back sheet 3, an absorber 4, and the streak grooves 5. The surface sheet 2 has the ridges 21 and grooves 22 which extend in the longitudinal direction and are paralleled in the width direction by turns on the side of a surface abutting on the skin. The streak grooves 5 extend in the width direction at least in either of regions before or after the longitudinal direction, a compressed part 51 and an uncompressed part 52 are formed by turns at a bottom 5a of the streak groove, a surface 51a of the compressed part is positioned below the surface 4a of the absorber, a surface 52a of the uncompressed part is positioned above the surface 4a of the absorber, and the uncompressed part 51 has its fiber density higher than that of ridges 21 of the surface sheet and maintains the fiber state.
