NEW MATERIAL:A compound having the structure of formula I [Ar is group of formula II (Ar' is 6W20C aromatic hydrocarbon group; R is H or methyl; n' is 1W4); n is 1W10] in the main chain and containing acrylamide-type unsaturated bond in the molecule.
EXAMPLE: N-(4-glycidyloxy-3,5-dimethylphenylmethyl)acrylamide.
USE: Paint, cast product, molded product, laminated board, insulation varnish, resist ink, etc.
PREPARATION: The compound of formula I can be produced by the ring-opening polymerization of the glycidyl group of the glycidyl compound of formula III (Ar" is 6W20C aromatic hydrocarbon group having one glycidyloxy group) with a Lewis acid (e.g. SnCl4, TiCl4, etc.). The polymerization is carried out preferably in the presence of a radical polymerization inhibitor such as hydroquinone to prevent the thermal polymerization of acrylamide group.
