Upper end parts of a plurality of rods each having a length capable of penetrating a cell of a honeycomb catalyst are fixed to a rod installation plate to configure a rod assembly, a rod insertion guide plate through which the rods can be inserted is inserted through lower end parts of the respective rods, lower end part of guide rods parallel to the rod assembly are fixed to the rod insertion guide plate, upper end parts of the guide rods are inserted through the rod installation plate, the rod installation plate can be slid relatively to the guide rods together with the rod assembly, a vibration exciter is fixed to the rod installation plate, the rod assembly is erectly provided above the honeycomb catalyst, the respective lower ends of the rods are inserted into the corresponding cells, the vibration exciter is driven in that state to vibrate the rods, and the rods can descend to lower openings of the cells in the vibration state of the rods.
