Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate the additional least significant data bit indicating a specific term in a processing element using learning algorithm.
SOLUTION: An additional least significant data bit 28 is compared with a random number 37(40), >, =, <comparison signals 43, 44, and 45 are applied, and one of η*(Xi-Wi-1), +1, -1, and 0 is added to the Wi-1 term (31, 32, 33, and 34) in any following case. Those cases are that at least one bit of η*(Xi-Wi-1) is equal to 1, that η*(Xi-Wi-1) is equal to 0, the comparison signal is <, and a code bit is +, that η*(Xi-Wi-1) is equal to 0, the comparison signal is <, and a code bit is -, or that η*(Wi-Wi-1) is equal to 0, and the comparison signal is > or =.
