Abstract:
To provide an aq. coating compsn. which forms a coating layer which promotes adhesion of a subsequent coating to the surface of a polyolefin article by compounding a halogen-free copolymer, a base. and a water-dispersible resin contg. specific groups.
This aq. coating compsn. contains (A) a halogen-free copolymer of ethylene and/or propylene and a higher α-olefin, the copolymer having an α,β-unsatd. dicarboxylic acid or anhydride grafted thereon. (B) a base, and (C) a water-dispersible resin contg. at least two epoxy groups. When this compsn. is applied to the surface of a polyolefin article and is cured by baking at a high temp., the adhesion of the surface to a subsequent coating is improved.
