Abstract:
PURPOSE: To shorten the hardening time of an adhesive between veneers and lessen the manufacturing cost of plywoods by applying a water-soluble adhesive while suppying water to the doctor roll of a glue spreader and to the water-soluble adhesive between coating rolls in the water-soluble adhesive coating process by the glue spreader.
CONSTITUTION: Coating rolls 1 and doctor rolls 2 of a glue spreader are provided at the positions at which the coating rolls 1 touch the front and the rear sides of a veneer 3 which passes between the rolls, a pressing board is so pressed as to make both end faces of the coating rolls 1 with the same length and the doctor rolls 2 with the same length be in the same plane, a water-soluble adhesive 4 is poured and stored between both rolls 1, 2, and each roll 1, 2 is rotated toward the arrow indicating direction. As a water supplying device, a nozzle 5 to spray out steam is set on the opposite to the adhesive 4 and the amount of the steam is controlled by a throttle valve 6 to adjust the viscosity of the adhesive 4 properly. As a result, the viscosity of the adhesive 4 is kept to be the same as that in the initial state and the adhesive is applied thin to the veneer 3 with good condition.
