PURPOSE: To obtain a new single polypeptide having activities to suppress the conversion of a cell into adipocyte, to suppress the lipoprotein lipase(LPL) of adipocyte, to induce the generation of colony stimulating factor(CSF) from a preadipocyte, to promote the antibody formation of B cell, to promote the formation of blood megakaryocyte colony, to promote the generation of platelet and/or to shorten the G0 phase of hemopoietic precursor cell, a DNA coding the above polypeptide, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A polypeptide produced by gene manipulation technique, having AGIF activity, essentially free from other proteins originated from human and constituted of an amino acid sequence of amino acid numbers 2-178 to 10-178 in the amino acid sequence expressed by the sequence number 2 of the sequence table. A DNA coding for this peptide. The new polypeptide is expected to be useful as an agent for the treatment of hypocytosis such as thrombopenia, an immune enhancement agent and an agent for the prevention or treatment of morbid obesity.
