Title:
ADJUSTABLE RESISTOR VALVE USED FOR BYPASS OF CEREBROSPINAL FLUID
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004065966
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an adjustable resistor valve suitable to be united with a bypass for the treatment of hydrocephalus for the purpose of improving inconveniences in present bypass devices.

This invention is an adjustable resistor valve used for bypassing cerebrospinal fluid, which comprises an actuator (1) to select a valve fluid resistance, a selector means (2) through which at least one fluid passage (2a) can pass, and a resistor means (3). The resistor means (3) is provided with a set of fluid passages giving different resistances to the fluid flow, and the passages are arranged on the circumference of the selector means (2) and guide the cerebrospinal fluid flow via the passage of selected resistor means (3) so that the fluid may pass through the passage (2a) of the selector means (2). The actuator (1) rotates to change the relative position of selection means (2) to the resistor means (3).
