Abstract:

To prevent the worsening of a fuel consumption when an air-fuel ratio is controlled to a rich side in order to reduce a heat load and drop an exhaust temperature in a high load operation state, in an internal combustion engine using a gas fuel.

In an internal combustion engine using a gas fuel for controlling so as to be the actual air-fuel ratio in a normal operation state near a theoretical air-fuel ratio, the operation state of the internal combustion engine is detected and the actual air-fuel ratio is controlled so as to be shifted to a lean side, when the detected operation state is a high load operation state.
