Title:
Air intake structure of an internal-combustion engine
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP6228091
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
The invention provides an air inflow structure of an internal combustion engine. A cylinder cover is provided with an air inflow port which is open on the top of a combustion chamber in a manner of observing a crescent convex portion along a cylinder axis direction, the crescent convex portion extending outward from the inner periphery of a cylinder bore, an air inlet which is communicated with the air inflow port and a part of the air inlet is bended, and an air valve shaft portion which forms an inlet valve with an umbrella-shaped air valve portion is supported on the cylinder cover in an open-close manner. The opening edge of the cylinder cover side of the cylinder bore is provided with a gap portion used to prevent interference with the air valve portion. In the air inflow structure of an internal combustion engine, a tumble rotating shaft in the combustion chamber stirs in the combustion chamber without deflection in a manner of being orthorhombic with a cylinder axis, so as to improve combustion efficiency. On a part of the air inlet (53) close to the air inlet port (51), a straight line portion (53a) extending along a hypothetical plane (VP) which includes the cylinder axis (C) and the central axis (CV) of the air valve shaft portion is formed.
