PURPOSE: To facilitate the alignment of belts, by providing such a method that after several endless belts made of resilient materials are inserted on two paral lel shafts spaced from each other by a predetermined distance, the space be tween both shafts are enlarged to stretch the belts while one of the shafts is rotated.
CONSTITUTION: Several endless belts 9 are inserted onto two shafts 4, 7 which are attached in parallel with a predetermined space therebetween. Then, the shaft 7 is pushed in the direction of the arrow A by means of an air cylinder 6 overcoming the force of a spring 8, to enlarge the space of the shafts 4, 7 in order to stretch the belts 9 while the shaft 4 is rotated by means of a motor 2. With this arrangement, the belts 9 are automatically aligned on the shaft 4 due to the resiliency of the belts 9 and the torque for rotation. Accordingly, it is possible to automatically stretch the belts between pulleys, thereby it is possible to enhance the productivity.
