PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound exhibiting excellent controlling effect on rice blast, etc., absolutely free from phytotoxicity to rice plant and useful as an agricultural fungicide.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula I[X is (substituted) lower alkyl, (substituted) lower alkenyl, (substituted) cycloalkyl, etc.; Y is cyano or COOR4 (R4 is H, lower alkyl, etc.); R1 is H or lower alkyl; R2 and R3 are H, lower alkyl or cycloalkyl; R2 and R3 may form 5 to 7-membered carbon ring mayjorm... together with C to which R2 and R3 are bound], e.g. N-(1-cyano-1- ethylpropyl)-2-(2-propenyloxy)propionamide. This compound of formula I can be synthesized by reacting a compound of formula II with a compound of formula III and converting the reaction product through a compound of formula IV, etc.
