Title:
ALUMINUM ALLOY-MADE DOOR BEAM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3266099
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the required maximum load and energy absorption quantity without simultaneously increasing weight by extensively improving breaking displacement of a door beam.
SOLUTION: This aluminum alloy-made door beam has a cross-section shape of connecting a flange 1 on the compression side and a flange 2 on the tensile side to each other by a pair of webs 3, 4 on a cross section vertical in the longitudinal direction, both overhung part lengths c1, c2 of the compression side flange l and both overhung part lengths d1, d2 of the tensile side flange 2 are different from each other, and respectively the longer overhung parts c1, d2 are on the others' diagonals. Consequently, when it receives a bending load, a cross-section has buckling deformation (roughly in a rhomboidal shape) as crushed, the load is largely lowered before large distortion is accumulated on the tensile side, and accordingly, the load on the tensile side flange 2 side is relieved and cracking is prevented.
