Abstract:

PURPOSE: To efficiently perform the absorption operation of particles to be irradiated by providing a timing control means used to control the timing operation of the following: a laser device, for excitation use, which amplifies a laser beam whose frequency has been swept; a power amplifier; and a laser amplifier.

CONSTITUTION: The oscillation timing operation of a laser device 7 for excitation use and the control timing operation of a power amplifier 3A are controlled independently of each other at a timing control circuit 6; the frequency-sweep timing operation of a laser beam Lb which is incident on a laser amplifier 8 and the timing operation which is amplified by the laser amplifier 8 are matched finally. That is to say, even when the pulse width of a laser beam Lc at a laser sweeping part 7 for stimulation use is short, the laser beam Lb can be frequency-swept by matching the timing operation to apply a voltage to an electro-optic element 2. Thereby, the frequency of a laser output beam Ld coincides with the absorption frequency profile of particles 5 to be irradiated, and an absorption operation can be performed with high efficiency.
