PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition containing, as active ingredients, a hydroxytryptamine antagonistic agent and an antiinflammatory agent, thus capable of suppressing pruritus such as atopic dermatitis hard to be healed by conventional antiinflammatory analgesic agents through the synergistic effect of both the active ingredients.
CONSTITUTION: This composition contains, as active ingredients, (A) a 5- hydroxytryptamine antagonistic agent (pref. 1,2,3,4,10,14b-hexahydro-2- methyldibenzo[c,f]pyrazino[1,2-a]azepin of the formula) and (B) an antiinflammatory agent (e.g., a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory agent such as indomethacin, steroidal antiinflammatory agent such as cortisone). For oral administration, 1-1000mg of the component A and 0.1-200mg of the component B are pref. administered daily per adult; for injection and percutaneous administration, 0.1-500mg of the component A and 0.01-100mg of the component B are pref. administered. The formulation of this composition is pref. a dermal preparation for external use containing 0.1-5wt.% of the component A and component B, respectively.
