To provide an apparatus for cutting-off a crust of a slice of bread, which can cut off the crust of the slice of bread by comparatively high processing ability without requiring man-power, and can obtain fine and smooth cut surfaces.
The apparatus for cutting off the crust of the slice of bread comprises a mounting stand which supports the almost rectangular parallelepiped slice of bread put thereon and moves in the forward and backward directions, a bread shifting portion for shifting the bread put on the mounting stand toward one side, a bread stopper portion for stopping the bread to be shifted by means of the bread shifting portion, a forward and backward bread position restricting portion for restricting the positions of the bread received by the bread stopper portion in the forward and backward directions, a circular blade for cutting-off one crust portion of the bread held by the forward and backward bread position restricting portion with the forward movement of the mounting stand, a bread rolling portion for rolling the bread with its one crust portion cut off on the mounting stand toward the other side, and a control unit for controlling the operation of the mounting stand, the bread shifting portion, the bread stopper portion, the forward and backward bread position restricting portion, the circular blade, and the bread rolling portion.
