An apparatus 1 for discharging droplets has a droplet discharge head 17 for discharging the functional liquid 28 from a nozzle 19 to the substrate 7 while formed into the droplets, a housing tank 15 formed long in the first direction 15a and housing the functional liquid 28 to be supplied to the droplet discharge head 17 and a carriage 11 for moving the droplet discharge head 17 and the housing tank 15 to the substrate 7. When the direction in which the carriage 11 moves the droplet discharge head 17 and the housing tank 15 in the discharge of the droplets from the nozzle 19 is defined as the main scanning direction 11a, the functional liquid 28 is stirred by moving the housing tank 15 to turn the first direction 15a of the housing tank 15 toward the main scanning direction 11a.
