Abstract:
To provide a symbol position calculation apparatus capable of finely calculating the position of symbols such as a circle written on a form without storing/managing a master image of the form or the like.
The symbol position calculation apparatus is provided with a CPU 101. The CPU 101 acquires a prescribed determination target region from an image, searches the acquired determination target region for a main straight line, acquires a peripheral region including the retrieved main straight line, detects position information of the symbol written on the main straight line by counting prescribed black pixels included in the acquired peripheral region, and calculates the position of the symbol from the detected position information.
