To provide an apparatus and a method for remaining heat utilization power generation for an automobile to make effective use of electric power generated with remaining heat of an automotive engine and surroundings thereof and a muffler.
The apparatus for remaining heat utilization power generation includes: a thermoelectric device attached inside the automobile; a heat pipe attached inside the automobile and for transporting the heat from at least one of the automotive engine and surroundings thereof and the muffler; a separate type battery installed separately from a main battery inside the automobile and for storing electric power generated by the thermoelectric device; and a power consumption source in the automobile which consumes electric power of the separately installed battery.
