Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust operating characteristics of antennas to adapt to different circumstances and optimize power transfer characteristics in wireless power transfer.SOLUTION: A power transmitting device (200) is attached to an existing furnishing or is embedded in host equipment. The power transmitting device includes a transmit antenna 204 to wirelessly transfer power to a receive antenna by generating a near field radiation within a coupling-mode region. An amplifier 210 applies a driving signal to the transmit antenna 204. A presence detector 280 detects presence of a receiver device within the coupling-mode region. The presence detector 280 may also detect presence of a human. When the furnishing is in a closed state, a closure detector 290 detects it. A power output is adjusted in response to the closed state, the presence of a receiver device, and the presence of a human.
