Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic actuator capable of giving forces in two different axial directions to a test piece, by a convenient cost-effective method.SOLUTION: A biaxial electromagnetic actuator for a material test device has a first electromagnetic actuator for imposing a force in the linear direction to an output shaft, and a second electromagnetic actuator of direct drive for imposing a force in the direction of rotation to the shaft. The shaft is installed in two combination bearings which allow movement of the shaft in the axial direction and the direction of rotation. One of these bearings is arranged in a hollow cylindrical member, the cylindrical member constitutes the armature of the direct drive actuator, and has a compact and symmetrical mechanism.
