Provided is an apparatus for decomposing a polycondensation polymer by hydrolyzing the polymer to be decomposed in the presence of supercritical or subcritical water, which apparatus comprises a reactor 3 for performing the hydrolysis reaction of the polymer with supercritical or subcritical water; a means for feeding the feed containing the polymer and supercritical or subcritical water into the reactor 3; a means 4 for filtering the fluid formed by the hydrolysis with the supercritical or subcritical water in the reactor to remove insoluble impurities; a solid/liquid separation means for separating a solid monomer from the filtered and cooled fluid; a means 10 for separating the fluid subjected to solid/liquid separation into water and decomposition products; and a water treatment means 13 for treating the water separated by the separation means.
