To screen waste matter or the like containing one of non-ferrous metals (particularly aluminum) and one of plastics (particularly polyvinyl chloride) as the non-ferrous metal and the plastic to be its constitutional substance, and screen and recover so as to enable each substance to be utilized as a row material.
A screening and recovering apparatus or method of the plastic or the like is provided with a crusher for crushing the waste matter or the like containing one of the non-ferrous metals (particularly aluminum) and one of the plastics (particularly polyvinyl chloride); an eddy current screening machine for screening and recovering the non-ferrous metal from a crushed piece; a vibration screening machine for putting the crushed piece which is not recovered as the non-ferrous metal by the screening machine through a sieve, screening and recovering a particle (powder) of the non-ferrous metal and the plastic, and also screening the crushed piece for repeatedly subjecting to crush of the crushed piece which is not passed through the mesh of a net of the sieve; a crusher for repeatedly crushing the crushed piece which is not passed through the mesh of the net; and a wet type screening machine for screening and recovering the non-ferrous metal and the plastic from a finally left crushed piece.
