To allow a functionally reliable and convenient blood flow fill level evaluation for a patient on dialysis, which is easy to use and gives the patient and medical experts little stress.
An apparatus is useful for setting a position for a dilution measurement on a hemodialyzer 14. The dilution measurement on the position allows determining a filling state of the patient 32 on a dialysis treatment. A venous connection element 2 has an infusion channel 16, which enables to infuse a bolus necessary for executing the dilution measurement into blood flowing toward a direction of a venous access from the hemodialyzer 14 through the venous connection element 2. An arterial connection element 1 has a temperature sensor 30 capable of measuring the temperature of blood flowing toward a direction of the hemodialyzer 14 from an arterial access through the venous connection element 2, which allows a system response to an influence in the blood flow of the patient 32 by the bolus infusion to be determined by the temperature measurement and also allows a blood flow fill state to be determined.
