Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve appearance by covering an arm rest supporting part with an arm rest and to prevent the user of a chair from catching his fingers on the rear side of the arm rest when moving the arm rest from side to side, in the arm rest instrument for chair by which the position of the arm rest can be adjusted from side to side.
SOLUTION: In the arm rest instrument for chair, an arm rest 3 supported by an arm rest supporting part 4 is provided with a fitting groove 3a wider than the width of the arm rest supporting part 4 on its lower surface. Then, arm rest supporting members 16 and 17 are attached from the downside of the arm rest supporting part 4 to the arm rest 3 so as not to detach the arm rest 3 from an arm rest strut 2 and to move it laterally to the arm rest supporting part 4, and regulating means 9, 10 and 12 are provided for regulating the move of the arm rest 3 lateral to the arm rest supporting part 4 while setting the limit of lateral movement.
