To provide an asphalt rubber which ensures decrease in decomposition of rubber powder during heated storage and is suitable for heated storage, and a method for producing the asphalt rubber.
The asphalt rubber contains a rubber powder comprising a hardening rubber in straight asphalt. The content of the rubber powder comprising the hardening rubber is preferably in a range from 5 to 30 mass%, and the particle diameter of the rubber powder comprising the hardening rubber is preferably in a range from 10 to 5,000 m. The method for producing the asphalt rubber includes: a melting step of heating and melting a straight asphalt; an adding step of adding a rubber powder comprising a hardening rubber into the straight asphalt after melting while stirring the asphalt at a temperature equal to or higher than the melting temperature; a stirring step of continuously stirring the asphalt rubber after addition while keeping a temperature equal to or higher than the melting temperature; and an ageing step of ageing the asphalt rubber in a temperature-controlled bath after stirring.
