PURPOSE: To realize a method for assembling a stator coil in which a back surface of the coil is not strongly pressed to a corner of a bottom of a slot of a core end at the time of assembling the end of the coil.

CONSTITUTION: A method for assembling a stator coil has a stator coil 8 assembled in a slot 1a of a stator core 1, an outer spacer 2 of a back opposed to the back of the coil out of the slot, and a binding member 7 for binding the end of the coil 8 by a binding ring 6. At the time of binding with the member 7, a protective member 11 in which the opposed parts of the coil at the axial outside are rounded is interposed between the back of the coil out of the slot and the outer spacer 2 of the back.
