Abstract:
To provide an assembling device and an assembling method which automatically assembles an elastic member assuming a ring shape to a groove of an outer circumferential surface of a cylindrical assembling object, can perform stable assembly and suppresses the occurrence of defective assembling.SOLUTION: An assembling device 11 includes a retention mechanism 27 made by annularly arranging a unit retention device 28 which retains one site in a circumferential direction of an elastic member 2 such that a plurality of pieces turn to a center, a radial direction movement mechanism 41 which moves each unit retention device 28 in the radial direction, an axial direction movement mechanism 29 which each relatively moves the elastic member 2 in an axial direction while moving each unit retention device 28 in outer circumferential direction by means of the radial direction movement mechanism 41 and expanding the elastic member 2 so as to assume a polygonal shape, and causes the elastic member to pass through an outer circumference of an assembly object 1 and an opening-closing mechanism 30 which performs assembling to the groove 2 by releasing retention by means of each unit retention device 28 on a position corresponding to the groove 3 of the elastic member 2 at the same time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
