Abstract:

PURPOSE: To simply and strongly assemble a negative current collector by preparing a current collecting element comprising a head and a current collecting part, fixing a negative terminal plate and a sealing body to the heat, and connecting the current collecting part with the head.

CONSTITUTION: A current collecting element 11 is divided into a head 11a and a plate-shaped current collecting part 11b having a large area, and formed with a low melting point metal such as a Wood's alloy having a melting point of 80∼150°C. A negative terminal plate 12 is welded to the head 11a, then a sealing body 13 is fixed to it. The current collecting part 11b is connected with the end of the head 11a by melt-bonding to form a negative current collector. The current collecting part 11b is inserted into a gelled negative electrode 17, and assembled with a separator 16 and a positive mix 15 to form a cylindrical alkaline manganese battery. Thereby, the surface area of current collecting part is enlarged and assembly is simplified to increase productivity.
