PURPOSE: To make the measurement of an optional specimen and the continuous measurement by rotating and moving vertically the turntable itself so that a cassette can be attached and detached on the same plane.
CONSTITUTION: The presence or absence of the specimen 4 is detected by a reflection type detector 65 existing in the position where light is projected to the end face of the specimen 46 when the descent of an auto sampler stops. A motor 57 runs if the specimen is present. The specimen 46 is then pushed out by a pushing plate 47 onto a rail 64. The motor 57 does not run and a motor 11 for vertical movement runs when there is no specimen. Then the turntable 32 descends by one step and stops in the position of the next specimen 46. The specimen 46 on the rail 64 is transferred to a measuring section by a transfer mechanism. The specimen is pushed and housed into the same position in the original cassette upon ending of the measurement. The above-mentioned operation is successively repeated and the motor 11 runs backward when the measurement of the specimen in the uppermost part ends. Then the table ascends up to the top dead point and stops. The measurement of the optional specimen is thus made possible and the continuous measurement is made possible as well.
