Abstract:
To improve overall maintenance workability by speedily performing an update operation for BIOS when a device is powered OFF and when the device is actuated thereafter.SOLUTION: A computer system 100 comprises: a system control part 1 in which BIOS is stored; an external memory 2 in which a plurality of pieces of the same setting information as setting information on the BIOS are stored; and a substrate management controller 3 which operates with a standby power supply when the device is powered OFF, and enables the system control part 1 and the external memory 2 to be accessed from an external remote management terminal 4. The substrate management controller 3 comprises: update information notification means 3A which turns ON a flag corresponding to update of the external memory 2; and BIOS update means 3B which updates, when the flag is turned ON, setting information on BIOS in the system control part 1 to the setting information on BIOS stored in the external memory 2 when the computer is started up.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
