PURPOSE: To polish in a short time a large quantity of polished articles each having a flat and symmetrical curved surface to be worked, by allowing the whole inner peripheral surface of a cylinder to have the equal curvature to that of the curved surface of an article to be polished and installing an intermittent operation controller onto a motor.

CONSTITUTION: The flywheel 9 of a rotary drum 5 is connected through a motor 11 and a V-belt 12, and the drum 5 is revolved by the motor 11. A plurality of cylinder receivers 21 are installed onto the outer peripheral part set between the wheel 9 and a disc 10. The cylinder receiver 21 is tilted against a rotary shaft 21a, and a polishing cylinder 23 is accommodated and fixed. An intermittent operation controller 26 for allowing the motor to repeat revolution and stop is connected to the motor 11. The polishing member and the polished article in the cylinder 23 are pressed and transferred along the inner wall of the cylinder by the revolution of the drum 5. Thus, the whole inner peripheral surface of the cylinder 23 can be utilized effectively to the max.
