To provide a bearing device for an in-wheel motor using a hollow motor, capable of being miniaturized by incorporating a rotating speed detecting device detecting a rotating speed of a wheel, in a bearing, and preventing the deformation of the bearing caused by fixing the rotating speed detecting device.
In this bearing device for the in-wheel motor comprising the rolling bearing 4 supporting the hollow motor, a pulsar ring 19 is fixed to an outer ring 12, and a sensor holder 26 in which the rotating speed sensor 20 opposite to the pulsar ring 19 is buried, and a retaining portion 25 for supporting the sensor holder 26 through an elastic member 27 in a floating state, are mounted. A fan-shaped detecting portion 21 as a part of a circular ring is fixed to a part of an outer periphery of an inner ring 13 through a fixing bolt 24, and a projection 26b is formed on an outer peripheral face of the sensor holder 26, and slidably kept into contact with an inner peripheral face of a magnetic encoder 18 with prescribed contact pressure.
