To automatically perform a deodorizing process by detecting the body odor emitted from a patient or an excreta smell.
A first odor-detecting sensor 13 is provided on the headboard 12 of the bed 10, and in addition, a second odor-detecting sensor 15 is provided on a side rail 14. A deodorizer 25 has a publicly known structure, and has a deodorizing filter in order to remove odor components such as the body odor emitted from a user or an excreta smell. This deodorizing device is constituted in such a manner that detecting signals from the first odor-detecting sensor 13 and the second odor-detecting sensor 15 are fetched by the controller 21 of an electrically operated bottom-regulating mechanism, and at the same time, a control signal is fed to the deodorizer 25 from the controller 21. Then, the deodorizing device is set to perform the control of the deodorizing operation of the deodorizer 25 based on the detecting signals from the first odor-detecting sensor 13 and the second odor-detecting sensor 15.
