PURPOSE: To obtain a miniature and inexpensive biaxial actuator with a simple constitution, by supporting movably the whole part of an optical pickup or an objective lens with an elastic matter in both an axial direction and in a direction orthogonal to a track.

CONSTITUTION: An optical pickup 3 consisting of a light source, a photodetecting element and an objective lens 2 is supported by a tracking elastic matter 4b and movably toward an arrow A which is orthogonal to a disk 5. At the same time, the elastic matter 4b is unified with a focusing elastic matter 4a and can move in an optical axis direction shown by an arrow B. An elastic matter 4 is simply produced by giving an etching process to a sheet of plate spring. This matter 4 is connected to the pickup 3 with an adhesive. Thus it is possible to obtain a miniature and inexpensive biaxial actuator with a simple constitution.
