Title:
BIODEGRADABLE NONWOVEN FABRIC AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08325912
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a biodegradable nonwoven fabric excellent in bulkiness and water absorption properties and having sufficient mechanical properties for practical use by mixing a natural fiber and a modified cross-section short fiber of a biodegradable aliphatic polyester and entangling the mixture in three dimensions.

CONSTITUTION: A natural fiber and a modified cross-section short fiber of a biodegradable aliphatic polyester are mixed to form a web, and fibers constituting the nonwoven web are entangled with each other in three dimensions by a pressure liquid flow treatment, etc. The obtained nonwoven fabric is excellent even in flexibility and has an improved biodegradability owing to the mixing of the natural fiber (preferably, at the mixing ratio of 10-70wt.%).
