Title:
BIOLOGICAL SUPERELASTIC TITANIUM ALLOY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3884316
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biological Ni-free titanium alloy which has more improved biocompatibility and also has superelastic properties.
SOLUTION: The biological superelastic titanium alloy has a composition containing Mo as a β phase stabilizing element of titanium and one kind of metal selected from Al, Ga and Ge which are α phase stabilizing elements and have the biocompatibility and the balance Ti with inevitable impurities. For example, the content of the Mo is 2 to 12 at.%, and the content of the Ga as an α phase stabilizing element is ≤14 at.%. Alternatively, the content of the Mo is 2 to 12 at.%, and the content of the Al as an α phase stabilizing element is 3 to 14 at.%. Alternatively, the content of the Mo is 2 to 12 at.%, and the content of the Ge as an α phase stabilizing element is ≤8 at.%.
