Title:
BIRD NEST OCCURRENCE PREVENTING METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SEWING MACHINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3876015
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a bird nest phenomenon caused by the ends of threads when sewing is started by connecting the ends of a needle thread and a bobbin thread in advance at the time of a sewing start.
SOLUTION: When a sewing machine is started, a needle thread 3a hooked by the tip 22 of a shuttle 14 and crossing the shuttle 14 during the first stitch and a bobbin thread 3b delivered from the shuttle 14 are stopped at the position where they can be concurrently caught and held by a thread holding means 9. The thread holding means 9 captures and holds both threads 3, pulls them to the side of the shuttle 14, and entangles the threads 3 via the action of a thread connecting means 11 to form a loop. The thread holding means 9 side of the loop is cut off, the thread ends on the shuttle 14 side of the cut threads 3 are gripped and inserted into the loop, and a knot that the threads 3 are connected at the thread ends is formed below a throat plate 12. A sewing action is then started, a seam 2 sewn with the knot is formed at the time of the sewing start of a fabric 1 to be sewn, and the occurrence of a bird nest is prevented.
