Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcasting and communicating integrated system for ensuring the QoS in which an optical network unit (ONU) and a user are also connected by an optical line and transmission of a broadcast signal is processed by a time division multiplexing (TDM) system.
SOLUTION: The broadcasting and communicating integrated system includes an optical line terminal 100 which receives digital broadcast information and data communication information, electro-optically converts the received signal, combines the elctro-optically converted signals to form an optical signal and transmits the optical signal on the basis of the optical WDM, an optical network unit 200 which separates the optical signal transmitted from the optical line terminal into the broadcast signal and a communication signal, applies optical/electric conversion thereto, processes upstream information transmitted from the user, and makes the broadcast signal and the communication signal selected on a user-by-user basis into a time slot for optical transmission, and a gateway 310 which electro-optically converts the time slot optical signal transmitted from the optical network unit, separates the time slot-based signal for distribution by individual services, and optically transmits the upstream information from the user to the optical network unit.
