Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a buffer which can absorb the shock of a rod of a hydraulic cylinder reliably and assuredly by providing detecting means for detecting the position of the rod having oil quantity detecting means united into one body, and oil quantity control means. CONSTITUTION:A buffer is adapted to show a buffer effect in response to expansion and contraction of a hydraulic cylinder 1. In the supply and discharge pipeline, two flow meters 7, 8 having the opposite operating directions to each other are connected parallel, and outputs of the flow meters 7, 8 are respectively input to the first and second counters 12, 13 in a control box 11. A central processor 14 is adapted to find the remainder between accumulating pulses of each counter 12, 13, and a course of processing is conducted with an output of a memory device 15. When a stroke of the rod of the cylinder 1 is higher on the right, and detected to be a stroke of the rod for starting a buffer operation when the rod is in the state of maximum contraction, a switching valve 18 is opened to operate a variable throttle valve 17 and limit the quantity of oil flowing in the cylinder.
