To enable the number of persons required for transporting some building materials up to their specified locations to be reduced by a method wherein there is provided a supporting member for supporting the building materials moved from a lower location of a building up to a floor to be worked while they are kept at horizontal states, there is provided a running device for moving the main body of a boggie to a predetermined position at a floor to be worked, and there is provided a lifting device for lifting up the supporting member up to the specified height.

There is provided a transporting device 1 for use in transporting some building materials 4 moved from a lower location of a building 2 to a floor to be worked up to a predetermined position of the floor 3 to be worked while they are being kept horizontal. This transporting device 1 is comprised of a main body 10 of a boggie running by itself on the floor 3 to be worked by a running device 6, a supporting member 12 for supporting some building materials 4 on the main body 10 of the boggie while they are being kept at horizontal states, and a lifting device 11 fixed between the main body 10 of the boggie and the supporting member 12 so as to lift up the supporting member 12 to the predetermined height.
