Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent roofing material or the like from being deteriorated or damaged in a short period of time by adding either one or both of ultraviolet ray absorbent and light stabilizer or reinforcing material into polypropylene resin used for roofing material or the like.
CONSTITUTION: Nonreactive ultraviolet ray absorbent and light stabilizer, for instance, are mixed in polypropylene resin pellet. This mixture is charged into an extrusion-molding machine and extrusion-molded while being heated to the fusing point of polypropylene resin or higher in the molding machine. Reinforcing fiber 2, for instance, may be fed from a feed roll 3 so as to be integrally fused between the polypropylene resin 1a, 1a. Ultraviolet rays are absorbed by the ultraviolet ray absorbent, and the radical generated at the deteriorated time is caught by the light stabilizer. Roofing material or the like can be thereby prevented from being changed to yellow and being degraded in strength.
