Title:
BURIED OBJECT DETECTING RADER DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3946434
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buried object detecting radar device having a higher abrasion resistance of a protective plate itself and capable of decreasing attenuation of an electromagnetic wave.
SOLUTION: The buried object detecting radar device comprises a transmitting antenna 12 for transmitting the electromagnetic wave, a receiving antenna 14 for receiving a reflected wave from a buried object 22, a signal processing means 24 for processing a received signal of the receiving antenna 14 as required to detect the buried object 22, and the protective plate 16 for protecting the transmitting and the receiving antennas 12 and 14. The protective plate 16 is formed of a sintered material (a) comprising a ZrO2-Y2O3 based zirconia sintered material, a crystalline phase of zirconia being mainly made of tetragonal zirconia, (b) having a molar ratio of Y2O3/ZrO2 in a range of 2/98 to 4/96, containing 1.0 wt.% or less of Al2O3, and (c) having an average particle diameter of crystal of 2.5 μm or less.
