Abstract:
PURPOSE: To satisfactorily form a penetration bead in a weld start part with an unstable arc in the butt welding of the single side of a fixed tube.
CONSTITUTION: After aligning the grooves of fixed tubes 1 and 2, a thin groove bottom part 6 is formed by working so that the groove bottom part of a weld start part becomes thinner than other groove bottom parts 3 and 4, and a weld is started from the thin groove bottom part 6. Therefore, it is easy to melt even by a small amount of welding current because of the thin groove bottom part, and a satisfactory penetration bead is formed. Also, a work process is not complicated.
