PURPOSE: To sew a high quality shanked button on a texture attractivly by reducing damages received by the texture side by the piercing with a sewing needle without losing the solidity of sewing while restraining the occurrence of wrinkles.

CONSTITUTION: A shift pattern setters 41, 48 are provided for setting the a two-dimensional shift pattern of a movable table 27 for holding integrally a bottom holder, texture guide and texture holder such that needle pierced parts at the doubled texture side are placed at a longitudinal interval on the texture edge in the symmerical positions about the apex in the needle pierced part of a button shank part. While the movable table 27 is shifted in the two dimensional direcatios on the basis of the set shift pattern, the shank button is sewn on the texture.
